About The Fellowship
The “ECA Fellowships for Young African Professionals” application period is now open, according to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).
The program’s objective is to get young Africans involved in developing their skills and capacities for Africa’s social dimensions. In order to produce highly trained human capital for success in research, international development, and the public sector, it focuses on training and mentoring.
The initiative also aims to create a network of African experts committed to supporting the development priorities of the continent by giving young professionals in academia, government, or international development hands-on experience. The program’s ultimate goal is to improve the fellows’ aptitude and abilities.
Eligibility
Candidates for the fellowship must be enrolled full-time in a PhD program, have a Master’s degree or a related advanced degree, and be under 35 years old. Those who are interested should speak French or English well and have prior experience with academic research or work. A research proposal in the applicant’s chosen theme area that is at least 1,000 words long and three reference or recommendation letters are also required.
Duration Of The Programme
The fellowship period is six months initially, and it can be renewed for up to another six months if the fellowshipee performs satisfactorily for a maximum of twelve months.
