Introduction
The TechWomen Program, which aims to improve participants’ professional competence, foster greater understanding among important professional networks, and enhance girls’ interest in STEM fields by introducing them to female role models, is currently accepting applications.
By giving them the tools and opportunities they need to grow in their careers, follow their aspirations, and motivate women and girls in their communities, TechWomen empowers, connects, and supports the next generation of women leaders in STEM fields from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East.
Priorities
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- are residing and working in a nation that is part of the TechWomen program both while applying and while taking part in the program. Candidates who are displaced will receive special consideration.
- Demonstrate oneself as emerging leaders in their chosen professional track by their work experience, volunteer experience, community activities and education
- Are committed to return to their home countries to share what they have learned and mentor women and youth.
- Have limited or no prior experience in the United States.
- Have evidence of voluntary or public service in their communities.
- Have a demonstrated track record of entrepreneurialism and commitment to innovation.
Eligible countries
- Applicants must be citizens and permanent residents of Albania, Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan or Zimbabwe.
