About  NYA

Brilliant young researchers in Nigeria under 45 from different research disciplines and areas can engage on a single platform called the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA). The Academy aims to develop bright, aspirational young scholars and professionals who will advance the country. The NYA encourages the use of collective research discoveries for the enhancement of Nigerian society’s quality of life while recognizing  national excellence among young researchers. It also has a significant impact on creating role models for the next generation of researchers. Integrity and excellence in research, as well as encouraging national and international research collaborations among young researchers for Nigeria socioeconomic benefit, are among the Academy’s key ideals.

Guidelines

Scholars in the following fields are eligible to apply: arts, education, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, sciences, social sciences. Fill out the application online at https://forms.gle/fzWwamGwH2o3ckmf6. To finish, you must log into an active Google account. Please completely adhere to all instructions on the form.

References

Applicants must get three (3) letters of recommendation from their references and upload them through the online application.

Note

Applicants for membership are ineligible to submit an application for any NYA prize in the same year. The same applicant may submit more than one application in a single year, but they will all be immediately rejected.

1. Are you a Nigerian working in Nigeria right now?

2. Are you currently involved in research activities and show evidence of scholarly research?

3. Do you hold a master’s degree or its equivalent?

4. Forty years of age or younger for male or forty-five years of age or younger for females?

5. Passion for excellence and a strong desire to lead a global field?
