Under the guidance of the Chief, Media Section, the incumbents of this will be responsible for developing, managing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring media strategies and releasing information on a regular basis to media organizations worldwide about issues of concern to the organization.

Type: Fixed Term Employment

Eligibility: 

• An advanced university degree (Master’s)  in communications, journalism, public affairs or a directly related field(s), or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of five (5) years prior work experience in journalism, or relevant experience at the national and international levels in communication and media relations in a large international organization and/or corporation is required.
• Prior experience working with a multilateral or UN organization is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of world affairs; current events and development issues is required.
• Fluency in English (written & verbal) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is considered an asset.
