About Grooming Centre
Founded in December 2006, Grooming Center is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under Certificate Number CAC/IT/NO 24198. The organization was established to address the lack of financial services available to the large number of economically active impoverished individuals in many parts of Nigeria who engage in small-scale trading and micro-productive activities.
The Center is the product of a group of microfinance professionals’ steadfast dedication to creating a dynamic, rapidly expanding company that will take the lead in enhancing the impoverished’s access to financial services. This membership group provides a variety of financial services right to its members’ doorsteps in order to carry out a radical action agenda.
The Grooming Center is a national organization with a global focus that is committed to providing financial services and resource mobilization to the underprivileged entrepreneurs who have little to no access to traditional financial services.
The Center relies on international best practices to run its operations and provide services. These practices were developed by ASA Bangladesh, a market leader in microfinance services, and were brought to Nigeria through the UNDP-supported MicroStart program. This allows the Center to function as a viable organization.
